Just finished a homebrew Christmas beer - I like to call it Mormon Pimp. It was in a Rubbermaid container, forgotten for almost three months, and it was completely flat. I suspect, though, that it has more to do with the corking, than it does with sitting in a basement since before Thanksgiving. It wasn't too bad, considering the last time I drank it ended with me vomiting on a rug, and then sleeping in it. I took my suit to the dry cleaners twice after that one.

I'm never going to finish this beer, am I?

Just finished half a growler of Spider Bite brewery Eye Be Use IIPA. Man it was strong but very good.

Madhouse coffee stout. Some fairly good Western IA stuff. I really like their pale ale and ipa,the other stuff has seemed to me mediocre/average. I hope Backpocket Brewery starts bottleing,I think I may like this the best locallyish so far, just my opinion though.I bet the stuff they are bottleing isnt getting beyond the city because it sells-out and cant keep up. Because last I heard they were bottleing and looked to me like pallets of bombers in the brewery. Pretty nice brewery/pizza in Iowacity definatly worth your time. They have some good guest-taps too. And who can resist Beer-cheese dip?! for Godz sake. With beer bread(I think) too (could be mixing that up with another local brewery maybe?), mind you. But still beer cheese or beer dip? What can make that any better than oh.. maybe jalepenos. thats what im talkin bout.Scovie (scobie?)units! And IPa's! O.K. Im done here.

ran an extra bottle of my americanized bitter off while I was racking into a keg. I'm drinking a flat bottle that was dry hopped with citra and columbus (the other 5 gallons is citra and centennial). The columbus comes through much more strongly than the citra.

It means I'm ashamed of the beer label laws in my state. ;)

You want to talk alcohol laws, try my state, Pennsylvania. Beer distributors for cases, state run "wine and spirits", six packs in bars, six packs in grocery stores, provided the six packs and groceries are entirely separate, and paid for at separate cash registers, with 144 oz limit, ..

SN Ruthless. What a great seasonal, will get a sixer every year. A great beer I would expect of them as well. Although... I dont know.. Founders reds rye? or Hoprod rye? Or even Two Brothers Cane and Ebel? Im pretty shure I like all those more. You be the judge though. Some great beers on the sameish level I think. I better save a bottle of each someday I think. And have a ryeipafest. Pretty shure I forgot a few good ones as well. Pretty shure thats unseasonalbly unrealistic as far as an ageing rye-ipa-fest.

Just brewed mine today. It's an oat English mild. Can't wait till its done. Going to be my first kegged batch.

Virgin kegger too.:ban::tank: Not for long though! Only I have a not-so pliny pliny batch to put in it. But pretty close. Possibly pliny the milder?Or a pliny extra pale ale from my outcome. My 3 gallon keg is suppose to be in this week, perfect time for me to keg it this weekend. Not exactly following all the rules of this batch anyway, plus I wanna brew and use the carboy this weekend too. And me and my beer have telepathic powers.. so I know its done and ready to go in two weeks. ;)

Thought of Wesley today as I went through Bevmo. I didn't buy any ;)

There are a lot of beers I love. But if there was a way to marry a beer, I would have to choose Wookey. Well, as long as I could have a thing on the side with Abrasive. And maybe hook up with Heady every now and then for a fling. But it wouldn't mean anything, my heart would belong to Wookey. :p

Edit: maybe that's the mixture of medicine and beer talking

And calling it a night with my customary 1 week bottled, undercarbed "tester" of my Hefeweizen. Besides being undercarbonated (yeah, it's got some head, but I rolled it prior to pouring and poured aggressively), it's ****ing great. Did my first decoction mash, and also followed the JZ route, and underpitched and fermented cold (62°). Tastes like the German ones.

Having the Hercules now, figured it being bigger then the Hop Crisis, but jeeze is this in a hop crisis (pun intended) this is the most un-ipa ive ever had no surmountable flavor or aroma. Which sucks cause I had a Hercules a while back that was a year old and it was down right amazing

Just one this morning then off to bed.

I've been looking for Lagunitas SUCKS for a while now and been jealous seeing all these posts with people drinking it. We have IPA, Maximus, New dog town, Brown sugga, lil sumpin sumpin, cappuccino stout, lil sumpin sumpin wild, and hop stoopid in stores here still.. but hadn't seen Sucks yet.

I stopped in the store at lunch and BLAMM!! They had ONE six pack of lagunitas sucks on the shelf! It's about damn time they made it to Montana. Sometimes I feel like I live in another country lol... :mug:
