I made a starter yesterday, 1pint water, 1/2cup DME. it bubbled a good bit now has seemed to stop. I want to brew tommorow, should I add another pint+1/2cup DME tonight? Is that how you make a "big" starter, compared to a normal starter?

Your starter will be fine. Did you just double the gravity, or did you also double the volume? When making a big starter I usually go to about 1 gallon, the yeast need the big volume to grow not just a high gravity.

I was reading the wiki on this site and it said for starters to use 1 pint + 1/2 cup DME. I figured when I need to up it a step I would just add another pint + 1/2 cup DME, so that's what I did. I think it's cool though, it's already taken back off fermenting.
