I'm putting together my home culture lab and I'm about to get a pressure cooker. I know I need one that will reach 15 PSI, but aside from that, I don't know anything about pressure cookers.
I'm looking at a couple models on Amazon.com and would like some feedback if anyone is willing to help.
Here are the ones I'm looking at:
1. Presto 23-Quart Aluminum Pressure Cooker/Canner
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0000BYCFU/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20
2. Mirro 22-Quart Aluminum Pressure Cooker/Canner
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000RNH7PQ/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20
Really the difference between the two is the price and one has a pressure gauge and the other doesn't. Is there any benefit for a gauge or to not have one at all?
And besides using it for an autoclave, I'll probably use it for some canning and cooking too, since I'll have it around.
