Draft Beer Porn in a Canoe

I thought I should share: a local homebrew club, Brasseurs a la Maison, created this to serve brews at the Zapp's Beer Festival in Baton Rouge this past weekend.

Wow, that is pretty incredible!

I must have one. All I need is about 30 more faucets, shanks, kegs, connectors, and another canoe I don't mind drilling holes in.

It was epic. We had 32 taps and served 200 gallons to very happy festival goers in 3 hours.

Can you say "a lot of ice" to keep those lines cold?

JasoninBTR, that would be a worthy improvement for next year: a way to keep the lines cold. Filling the canoe with ice would be impractical for a lot of reasons. Maybe some kind of PVC manifold to run the lines through, that could then be packed with ice?

I tried, but the aluminum e'ffed up my drill bit!

This is a thread I started. ill delete it and post up the larger pictures here instead.

me and some fellow brewers wanted to make a cool tap wall, after some brainstorming we came up with a small boat on the table. we got a canoe donated with multiple cracks and holes. so a little glass work later some wood work for the stand and this is what we came up with.

debuted it this past weekend and it was a hit!
32 taps but we had 40 beers, 200 gallons of beer.

What do you think of our new tap wall?

I was a little disappointed to not see a canoe floating on the water serving draft beer, however the large amount of taps makes up for it. That's awesome.

I may need to plan a trip to Baton Rouge next year. That looks like a lot of fun

Same here. I spent Saturday looking at pics from the Zapp's Fest. Surely not as much fun as being there. Will have to make the trip next year.

ETOHonboard, I just saw that you live in Castle Rock, CO. A good buddy of mine from Lafayette, LA is the manager of a sports bar called "The Fowl Line" in your fair city. He's a great Cajun cook, and I know he's gone to some length to give his establishment a Louisiana flair. Including having crawfish boils and serving some LA beer. Stop by, have a cold brew, & tell David that Zach said "wassup!"

Awesome set up!! The build looks like just as much fun as the event itself... And the Ford truck full of kegs is EPIC!! The coconut porter caught my eye.. Any chance you have that recipe?

That rig was the talk of the fest for sure. I know a lot of people never left the brasseurs tent. Set the standard for bad ass this year.

So we were chatting about a decent low tech way of keeping the lines cold and I think we are just going to add another 6' or so to the lines and coil them in the bottom of the canoe and cover with ice. As far as emptying the weight at the end of the day we could either cut holes in the bottom and cover for dumps or just tip her over like we did last weekend. But honestly the beer was flowing so fast and we had enough length on the lines that serving temp and foaming were not a problem.

The only other improvement we are thinking for next year is to build a monolithic gas manifold on the back of the canoe. This should help with hose routing and gas management. One tank/reg feeding all the taps.

1) you have a minor typo in the red and white sign: the accent on the "a" is in the wrong direction. it should be "Brasseurs à la Maison" (not á). yes, i realize that i might be the only person to notice this...
2) how the hell did you folks expect anyone to choose from that selection?!? i ran down the list and counted at least 10 beer i needed to try. even with small pours, i would have crawled out of there.

I was there and it was definitely awesome.
I wanted to taste them all, but didn't get to, but I still had a great time and got a little too tipsy!
