Anybody thought of or is using one of these to keep their temps up during the winter.

Seems pretty expensive compared to a reptile heater, fermwrap, heating pad etc.

I use a heating pad inside of a chest freezer on a two stage controller. Downside of a heating pad is they all have a 2 hour shutoff now, but in the chest freezer it never needs to run longer than that. Upside of a heating pad is they are around $8 at wal-mart.

Aquarium heaters are the cheapest alternative if you don't already have the temp controller.

I have a small little cubby about the size of a chest freezer under my stairs. I insulated it with fire retardant insulation and put a little electric heater on a thermostat. To keep it at 68 it runs about 30 seconds twice an hour. :) Best 20 bucks I ever spent.
