I am in the midst of converting a keg and was wondering if using weldless materials (spigot, site glass) works just as well as having them welded on. I ask because finding someone in my area to weld may not be the easiest task. Also, where would you order these items from? Cheaper the better but I also need quality. Thanks again everyone. Best brewing related website by far!

A good weld with a tri-clover fitting is more sanitary than a weldless, but both work exactly the same. A bad weld is probably worse than a weldless fitting.

I also have a weldless fitting, and it has worked just fine for almost a year.

for a boil kettle or HLT it does not really matter considering it's going to boiling hot in there.
