This was an experimental batch so I could use some of my hops from the garden.

Tasting notes 10/24/09: They've been in the bottle about a month and a half now. Wow! This has got a perfect malty profile to it. The Caramel flavors shine through. It's a bit dark for an American Amber, but the flavor is right on. A little upfront bite from the Chinook hops, but a very smooth back end. I'm very impressed by the way this one turned out.

Well, I bottled this about 1 month ago. Tasted the first one last night. It actually turned out darker than expected. I might drop the chocolate down to less than an ounce next time to fix the color. Otherwise, it's got a very smooth flavor with a definate hop presence. It's exactly what I was aiming for to get a feel for my homegrown hops this year.

Ha! My buddy and I were brewing together that day. While we were brewing, we were watching a show on the Travel Channel about the worlds craziest bathrooms.
