I'm a graphic designer... and I'm working on a logo now... Should be up soon... :)
You're a better man than I am. I've been a designer for 15 years, and run into a SERIOUS wall whenever I have to design for myself. Work's never a problem, and clients love what I do for 'em, but the second I try to do something for my personal use - be it a logo for my freelance stuff, my own site, even brewery name/logo, I just sit there staring at a blank screen until I give up and resort to tasty, tasty, beer... :tank:

I feel you.... I have the same thing.... my wife actually came up with the idea.... I'm good at visualization, but terrible at concept.

Nytemare Brewing
Been using that name since the early 90s posting on bulletin boards. Always stuck with it. I'm kicking around "Beers for Fears" for my slogan and using mystical creatures and legends for names of brews.

mine is called RACER XPEDITIONS BREWERY. about 10 years ago i drove 500 miles to see a friend and the transmission went out (well fourth and fifth gears) about 50 miles away. i had to take a bus back home and asked my friend if he would mind selling the car and send me half of the money. he could keep the other half for the trouble. he did sell it for $1500 dollars and spent the entire sum on gear for a trip to the wonderland trail around mount rainier. when i found out i told him that seeing as i financed his gear i was basically his sponsor and he should at least wear a RACER XPEDITIONS hat. (my name for any video game is racer x) my friend has YET to take the trip.

A friend and I were playing in a beer pong league at a bar locally, and we started calling ourselves "Wrath of Pong". I brought that over into my homebrew to just call us "Wrath Brewing"

I'm actually brewing a domestic-ish beer soon that I will probably use the Wrath of Pong name for

Copper Cat is self explanatory. I have a copper cat named Harli. The logo I did was horrible, then I had the guys at Brew Brand Creative work on it and it came out pretty good. They are vendors here and I have no affiliation besides being a customer. They also did a one color that I used to make a stencil for acid etching my glasses.. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/diy-pint-glass-etching-174513/index8.html#post2111454 They were great to work with, surprisingly inexpensive and didn't stop until I was happy. I have no skills at all for graphic design.

^^ The ".." thingie is called an "umlaut" and German-speaking people pronounce the vowel over which it sits as the vowel sound WITH an "eee" sound. Kinda hard to describe. Much easier to understand when you hear it done.

Thanks for your imput.

Ref/cat/Dino-sourceSee also: Metal umlaut
The umlaut diacritic can be used in "sensational spellings" or foreign branding, for example in advertising, or for other special effects. Häagen-Dazs is an example of such usage.

As the German short /a/ is more open than the equivalent sound in English (/æ/), Germans sometimes use the diacritic <ä> to imitate the English sound in writing, giving an English "feel" to words used in advertising; in a McDonald's restaurant in Germany one can buy a "Big Mäc".

Since the letter ü is very common in Turkish, its inappropriate use can make a text in another language look "turkified", a purely visual mimicry. Because of the large number of Turks living in Germany, this again is a phenomenon familiar in German. The Turkish-German satirist Osman Engin, for example, wrote a book entitled Dütschlünd, Dütschlünd übür üllüs - the opening line of the first stanza from Das Lied der Deutschen, but turkified.

In the heavy metal scene, the umlaut diacritic can frequently be observed as a mere decoration (with no significance for the pronunciation) on the names of bands such as Blue Öyster Cult, Motörhead, Mötley Crüe, Mägo de Oz, Queensrÿche, or Leftöver Crack. The group Spın̈al Tap places an umlaut over the <n>. A self-referential example is the Finnish group Ümlaut.

Hedges & Sons Brewery...kinda self explanatory as to why. However, the best part is that the boys are 5 and 2. I'm working on making them the Tiger Woodses of brewing (not sure if you can hit up the porn stars with this hobby, though). If nothing else, they'll be the coolest kids in high school.

Ball n' Chain Brewery because I only brew when the SWMBO gives me just enough slack to get out in the garage. And because my middle name is "Chayne" and that's what I go by (family name, thanks Mom). When I tell folks my name they look at me all weird and say "Your name is what?" so I tell them "Like Ball and Chain".

I like it. Your logo is pretty cool too.

Gotta relate a funny story. When I decided I was going to get seriously into making wine I built a room in one end of the basement to set aside as my winery. When my wife learned my plans she wasn't very happy. We had one of those couples debates you hear tell of which came down to the ultimatum, "It's me or the winery". So I went upstairs and started to pack. When my wife came in the bedroom she said, "I didn't mean you had to leave." I said, "This isn't for me."

Before you get all sideways on me I will tell you that my wife is now a very active partner in my winery. For the record I have a great SWMBO and sometimes she gets her way. I guess my heart just goes out to those guys whose wives give them grief about chasing their dream.

I have lived in So Cal my whole life so it seemed appropriate due to the amount of earthquakes we have.

Tremor Brew Company

G.O.A.T.'s Brews (I've got a friend at my art school working on the logo right now)

I started up a shop a while back where I sold a bunch really random things that me and the SWMBO make. We're both into a lot of random things and the shop started carrying everything from gaming supplies, to chainmail jewelry, to custom engraving, to furniture all with a bit of a geeky feel to it so we renamed the shop "Geek of all Trades." When I got into brewing I just decided to stick with the name since I'm planning to open a SteamPunk themed bar after I graduate so this is really just one more facet of my geekery.

Abominable Snowman Brewing
Last names is Snow so I go by snowman at work and abominable was added cause I think its cool.

One of my racing friends dubbed me "Blue Flag Brewing" in honor of the racing flag painted on the hood of my car slightly humorously.

It is a cautionary flag that means "Faster car approaching behind you."

Bad Christian Brewing Co. On another message board I post on I routinely get called a bad Christian. It sounds cool for a brewer and has an inside meaning so it's what I've decided to go with.

Mine is actually kinda simple. I have two daughters, Madison and Catelynn... So Mad Cat Brewery was born. I still don't have a logo yet. I have a very funny pic that I want to use in it but I have no idea where to start.

The only thing I have done more than brew beer is rename my fricking brewery. I come up with things that I like, but nothing ever really "hits it" for me.

Currently, I am calling it (based on my opinion of the HERMS system I just built):

Your frog does not look very angry. :D

My previous name was "Dead Frog". Here's a logo I whipped up, but the name "Dead Frog" just didn't roll of the tongue well.

edit: the history for the name Dead Frog was that within a couple of weeks time, I found a dead frog floating in one of the carboys I had on the back deck (he must have crawled up and in and was screwed) and then I found a mumified frog in a cardboard box full of misc brewing tools in the garage (again, climbed in and was screwed.)

Since I am not creative at all my wife came up with the name for my brewery. Mygan Brewing Company. My twin daughters names are Myelle and Reagan so she just put their names together.

Off topic, but I went to the Steampunk World's Fair in NJ 2 months back and felt like the cool kid in the room for once.

A friend with a similar feeling texted me later that night with "can you imagine right now how many people are losing their virginity while wearing aviator goggles?"

I agree that it doesn't look very angry, i would like to change my adjective to something else that will work with the frog i have. Any ideas?
