I'm making a spakling mead. I'm wondering how much alcohol I want in it. My yeast is good up to 18%.

any suggestions from people who have made sparkling meads? :mug:

Anyone can make STRONG mead/beer, but is it enjoyable to drink?

Just because you can doesn't always mean you should. ;)

I make good flavorful meads with only 1/2 gal of honey (about 6 lbs) for 5 gals. I've used 15 lbs also, but only rarely.

I would rather have 2 good meads than one that is too strong to enjoy/questionable for drinking?;)

It sounds like 14% or less is the winner.

I have been making allot of beer lately and am planning on switching to mead as soon as it is too warm to brew beer.

The first batch will be sparkling mead in beer bottles. after that i will be making 2 still meads. One sweet and one dry. I've been having people save me wine bottles to bottle them allready.

If all goes as planned I will have at least 3 types of mead to drink next summer.
