This weekend I bought a recipe for a watermelon beer. It uses all watermelon extract for flavoring. I was considering trying to flavor it with some real watermelon. But I have no idea how much watermelon to use. I was thinking of adding it to a secondary fermenter. One of my concerns is I may need a lot of watermelon to get any flavor. Will adding too much end up diluting the whole recipe? Is it even worth adding real fruit?

Do a search on here for "watermelon wheat" and you'll probably find some sort of a baseline in everyone else's recipes they've done.

btw... you BOUGHT a recipe?

Yeah... do a search. I have done it with melon and with oil flavoring and posted on these forums. Its all out there for you to find.

PS: for the effort Lorann Candy flavoring is your best bet compared to squeezing a melon.
