I have a few hops cones ready for picking here in Charlotte NC, I would like to freeze the whole hops cone for future brewing. If freezing the whole cone, will I still benefit from the hops later on when I brew?

Dry them, then vac. seal them, and toss into the freezer. If you don't have a vac. sealer, use zip top bags, and try to get as much air out as you can. This is how I do mine. I bought a Renyolds Handi-vac setup. It's zip top bag with a "valve" that you use their little vac pump with. I weigh out 1oz of dried hops and then vac-seal in 1gal bags. You'll be able to use your hops as needed.
Hope that helps. :)

I have purchased hops by the pound, vacuum sealed them and put them in the freeze and they lasted for over a year. The key is to free the hops of oxygen and get them cold.
