Ok with all the talk of RYEs going on lately I want to take a stab at a recipie I want to brew in 3 weeks.

its posted in the IPA section as well. So hints? Tips? Tricks?

Recipe Type: All Grain
Yeast: 1272
Yeast Starter: 1L
Batch Size (Gallons): 5.5
Original Gravity: 1.075
Final Gravity: 1.015
IBU: 87.3
Boiling Time (Minutes): 60
Color: 10° Gold-Copper
Primary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 14
Secondary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 7
Additional Fermentation: Crash cool and keg 3 days


based on 80% eff-
Mash 153 @ 60min

70% 10lb American Two-row Pale ppg 37 1 °L
21% 3lb Rye Malt 30 2
3% 8oz Flaked Wheat 34 2
2% 6oz Crystal 60L 34 60
1% 4oz Belgian Special B 30 220


60 0.75 Simcoe pellet 13.0
60 0.75 Nugget leaf 13.0
15 0.5 Simcoe pellet 13.0
15 0.5 Nugget leaf 13.0
0-5 0.25 Simcoe pellet 13.0
0-5 0.25 Nugget leaf 13.0
Dryhop 2.0 Simcoe pellet 13.0

Wyeast American Ale II (1272)
6.9% A.B.V.
 
Why the flaked wheat? I would definitely ditch it, you will get tons of mouthfeel and head retention from the rye.
