Logo Attempt #1

So I've been working on a logo. SWMBO and I enjoy da UP and actually everything that has been great in my life has happened north of the 45th parallel. As such, I'm calling my "brewery" 45th and North.

Attempt at a logo...GO!

Please add critiques. I am actually trying to improve this logo, not make it worse.

It's simple but nice. I've always been a huge fan of simplicity.

Ya might want to consider what it will look like with a beer name somewhere on it.
or under it.

Have you thought about keeping the tip of the compass needle inside the circle? IMHO it might look better that way. I also like the idea of a closeup photo of an actual compass, or maybe even a GPS unit with the proper coords displayed. Regards, GF.

I'd play down the blue in the outside but otherwise it looks like something on a bottle I would purchase. That's a good thing.

Thanks for all the good feedback, ya'll. I'll take it to heart. I was designing the logo and it appears that I even forgot about putting in room for a beer. DOH!
