The title of this thread freaked me out a little, but the story makes it sound like the brewery shouldn't be changing dramatically under new owners. It may be a boon to the craft spirits movement.
 
Having just watched Beer Wars I was afraid Anchor was being sold to one of the big three.

I've never had Anchor Steam (I will rectify that soon) but I have had Maytag Blue Cheese, which I think is from the same family. Do yourself a favor and go to Iowa or google and order some online, it goes great with home brew.
