It is a wonderful smell 
...and in the afternoon, and in the evening!
But seriously, I usually brew real early in the morning (early like I'm mashing in by 06:00 usually), and that amazing cereal mash smell does blend well with coffee and the early morning calm...

I love that smell...I just started my 90 min boil..I seem to have my face over the keggle most of the time...
That mash smell got even better with hop additions. Def way better than airlock sniffing...:rockin:

I dumped my spent hops in the stinky kitchen garbage can last night and left it. Now I find myself sniffing my garbage every 10 minutes because it smells amazing!!!
Note to self... spent hops makes a good deodorizer!
