Does anyone know an old recipe for Groaning Ale? Evidently it was the ale made for midwife and pregnant women. I've found a few references but no recipes

Just found one in "The Homebrewers Recipe Guide"...

10lbs light malt extract
1lb 40L crystal malt (155 degrees for 30 min)
3lbs honey
3/4 lb brown sugar
2oz kent goldings (60 mins)
1oz fuggles (15 mins)
european ale yeast
1 cup molasses (priming)

primary: 7-10 days
secondary: 21-28 days
bottle with molasses and age for at least 2 weeks

Traditionally, from what i've read, brew as soon as you learn of the pregnancy, then it has a chance to age well before tapping...
