Hi all, so I thought I would adapt a previous recipe involving chinook hops, which I am currently enjoying, but which is a little earthy for the style I am going for. My LHBS stocks citra hops at the moment, and I hear they complement Amarillo (which I really like) well. Not sure about the timings of the hop additions during the boil so any comments would be welcome!

I'd cut the carapils in half. It is an IPA, so you want it dry.

I hope you end up closer to 1.012 than 1.017.

Per the hops:

- I'd get a bittering hop like Columbus, Magnum or Galena for the 60 minute addition. It is a waste of expensive Amarillo and Citra to add it at that time. I'm told Citra can give a catty taste if added early (I have no experience, I only use it for late additions).

- The 30 minute addition is not doing much. Most of the flavor and aroma are gone in that time, and you are not getting the most out of it's bittering properties.

- I'd just use all the hops split evenly and added at 15, 10, 5, 0 and dry, and find something else to bitter with.
