Just brewed this on Sunday. My actual mash temp ended up being 154, and my boil was only 75 minutes because I spilled some of my sparge water (on my HAND-ouch.). OG was 1.064. Yeasties had me scared for a moment but fermentation started showing signs this morning. We'll see how it turns out! :mug:

I'd bump up the IBUs and addition there. I have found that when you only late hop the bitterness is smooth to the point where it can appear nonexistant. If that is what you are after....go for it. I just popped open my DIPA at 88 IBU and it has a mild bite at best. Very good but if you enjoy the bitter bite of IPAs you can go a lot higher than you think without it being too powerful. Just what I've found. I have done maybe 30 late hop only ales in the last year.

10 days ago I did a somewhat similar hop attack as you did. I also used about 2 lbs less grain and hope that wasn't a mistake. I was trying to keep the ABV down so I can slam more down without getting stupid but won't know for a bit. Here's what I did and it was the BEST smelling brew day ever. I'm about to dry hop and I can still smell the fermenter 6 feet away.

Here's where I was going with this. I had just made a beer with 13.5 oz of hops and hopbursting and wanted to come close to that using much less hops so I hit this with a 60 minute (really FWH) then did more of a traditional late hopburst.
