I live in ATL and they beer fanatics go crazy during Jan-Mar when Happy Ending is available. I tried it for the first time and could not get past the Belgin Like Yeast Fruitiness. Does anyone know what king of yeast is used in the Happy Ending and possibly recommend another kind that does not have such fruity esters? Thanks.

I have seen somewhere it is (or is similar to) WY1968. You could either ferment on the low end of the temp range or switch and use Irish Ale Yeast. It's got such a nice character. I use it for stouts and for pale ales occasionally. If has a hint of esters but the malt comes through really nicely. WY1084 I believe.
