I want to make this recipe https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f68/left-hand-milk-stout-clone-139820/ for a milk stout. I was searching for lactose on the internet and noticed both of these: http://morebeer.com/view_product/15523/102195/Lactose_4_oz and http://www.northernbrewer.com/shop/lactose-1-lb.html. Are they the same besides being different measurements? The morebeer one says to use 4-8 oz in a 5g. batch. The recipe calls for a pound which is 16 oz, right? Is there something different in them? Does one possibly have more sugar content in it than the other?

Thanks!

No difference, just a matter of preference and what you are going for. I've seen recipes using anywhere from 4oz to 1.5 lbs in a 5 gallon batch. I would stick with what your recipe calls for and then you'll have a baseline from which you can make some decisions if you brew it again.
