I just finished my first batch of Apfelwein. It is a slightly different version of the Infamous "Edworts Apfelwein".
I used:
  • 5 Gallons Mott's 100% Apple Juice
  • 2.5 lbs Brown Sugar
  • 1 5 Gram packet Red Star Montrachet Yeast.
  • 2 Sticks of Cinnamon
I warmed 1 gallon of apple juice on the stove to dissolve the sugar. I added it to the fermenter along with three other gallons and the cinnamon sticks. Then I added the yeast and poured on the final gallon of yeast.

My OG reading was 1.062.

Easy, man. Easy.

Make sure you post the results in this thread. I just drank one of the stock ones an hour ago and am planning on making another batch soon.
