Went cherry picking with my daughter yesterday and had enough sour cherries for 6 quarts of cherry pie fillling. I didn't have any ClearJel on hand so I just packed them in syrup and will add a thickener when I bake the pies.

OMG... I don't have a weekend free to do anything for the next few weeks.
Any orchards out that way that ship say a crate of cherries?

I don't know of any that are shipping. I will keep a ear out though for you.

Oh my... the cherry season is here? What state are you from???

Sorry for the late response; I went fishing and internet access is slim to nil where I was. The cherries were from Long Island, on the North Fork. Hard to find them out here, but I can find them elsewhere in New York State If you're in MA, then your season is probably a week or so behind, depending on the latitude:

Happy picking!
