I just brewed a pale ale and used the Fermentis Safale US-05 yeast for the first time. I always have used liquid yeast in the past, and was intrigued by threads on this forum and others about good results with the current crop of dry yeasts. I took my FG hydro sample today, it read 1.012. My OG was 1.061 which yields an apparent attenuation of 79.4%. That's with a 155-154 mash and a pretty good amount of Munich and Vienna malt in the grain bill.

Do you guys achieve these rates of attenuation with Safale US-05? The sample was delicious and very clean, so I'm pleased.

I love Us-05. I've used on all my batches lately and have had great attenuation and great tasting, clean beers.

we do too.....that **** is great!!!!!

last batch i made with us05 was 1.062, finished @ 1.012
