I'm about to do my 6th all grain batch, a (hopefully) nice Belgian Triple. I have been calculating my strike water at 1.25 qt per lb of grain (per guidance from other threads), then I add an additional 0.125 gal. per lb for grain absorption. Is this the "right" method or is the absorption volume included in the 1.25 qt per lb of grain? Or does it even matter that much? Thanks.

No, you want to mash at the 1.25, you ad back the absorbed water volume when you are mashing out/sparging.
