Ok so I made about 3.5 gallons of cider the other day and have yet to see any fermentation. I know blah blah hydrometer, sight doesn't equal fermentation...But I didn't use a hydrometer on cider unlike my beer =\ My question is if I were to add in another packet of yeast for 5 gallons, would that be too much yeast and give it off flavoring? I'm using nottingham yeast

Nah, probably not at this stage unless you are making a stupid big starter.

And use your hydrometer in the future!:p

My airlock shows no activity but I opened it up today to see bubbles and other signs of what appeared to me to be activity...Is this a good sign of cider yeast activity that I should just leave be instead? Too late to take a gravity and another reading later just to see if there is activity going?
