I am looking for the BYO DFH Indian Brown Ale clone printed in the September 2005 issue.

Not sure if it is extract or all grain.

Can someone post the recpie or a link where I can find it?

5 gal
og 1070 fg 1016
ibu 50 srm 32 abv 6.9%

10.75# pilsner
15.2oz flaked maize
10.9oz amber
10.8oz crystal 60
6.5oz coffee malt
2.2oz roasted barley
6oz brown sugar
11.5aau warrior 60 min (.72oz @ 16%)
6aau goldings 10 min (1.2oz @ 5%)
6aau liberty 0 min (1.33oz @ 4.5%)
.25oz goldings dry hop
.25 liberty dry hop
WL0005 british ale
.75 priming cugar


caramlize sugar in kettle prior runoff. mash 152F in 3.75g. 90 min boil. ferment 70F.

1.25# muntons light dme
5.25# muntons light lme
1.0# pilsner malt
15.2oz brewer corn syrup
10.9oz amber malt
10.8oz crystal 60
6.5oz coffee malt
2.2oz roasted barley
6oz brown sugar
11.5aau warrior 60 min (.72oz @ 16%)
6aau goldings 10 min (1.2oz @ 5%)
6aau liberty 0 min (1.33oz @ 4.5%)
.25oz goldings dry hop
.25 liberty dry hop
WL0005 british ale
.75 priming cugar


add enough water to dissolve and caramelize sugar. add 4.3qt and heat to 163F. steep 152F 45 mins. meanwhile, heat 3.2qt water to 170F. rinse grain bag and add water to at least 2.5g. add dme and corn syrup and boil 60 min. add lme at 15 min remain. top to 5gal after chilled and in fermenter. ferment 70F.
