When should I take the hops out of my beer after brewing my extract recipes? I've been straining them out right after flameout, before I cool the beer down.

I don't take mine out. I even have many beers that have "flame out" additions, added at 0 minutes, so they still in there for the chilling. After the chilling, I may strain them out as I pour into the fermenter if I have a ton of leaf hops that are easy to strain. Otherwise, I don't bother then either.

I skip the straining all together, and everything goes into the carboy. Yes, its a bit more of a mess later, but I don't mind.
