On google I find shows on hulu, The walking dead for example.

On hulu wii the search finds nothing.

The search is definitely effed, but am I missing something?

No...Hulu sux..I used it for one day and cancelled my free week trial. I subscribed just to watch the Walking Dead, and they have zero episodes. At least Netflix has the first season, but I don't like Netflix either...lol.

We have Hulu Plus for our TVs. I have to say, paying extra for fewer features seems wrong. Yet I still do it because 8 bucks a month is waaaaaaay cheaper than cable.
Between Netflix streaming and Hulu Plus, we stay entertained.

that SUCKS.

Any reason I shouldn't cancel?

We just got it last month as my wife is the only one to typically watch TV. We already had Netflix on the PS3, and I had just cancelled our Dish as it was getting ridiculous for 250 channels and I only watched 2.

Friday I turned it on to try to find a good show. Nothing. Nothing at all. complete bull**** in my opinion. if the wife doesn't use it more in the next month I am cancelling it. Under the Sci-Fi section, all the movies were from 1930 and 1950. Serious? And not even good ones.

Phew!! I cancelled it with great relish, and I was afraid your post would point out something really COOL on HUlu, lol.

Yeah, eff that BS.

The interface and search on HULU SUCKS unforgiveably. Makes Netflix look like freaking Steve Jobs designed it.

Worse, it sucks across multiple platforms. We have it built in to our VIZIO TV and on our ROKU box. It is completely Byzantine in its construction. It freezes during the mandatory commercial breaks. It fails to keep up with what you have watched and haven't watched in the queue.

But still, I get to watch Modern Family and wifey gets to watch Grimm. Apt. 23 is funny, and some of the original programming is quite good (SPY, Booth at the End).

In all, if you don't want cable, it works okay for $8/month.

But why when I can put that $8.00 towards a new Wyeast packet?

Lol.

Yeah I might actually rather put $8 down the garbage disposal.

Guess Netflix spoiled me. It is the future.

I am Me. I am cable free, and I approve this message.

wait....no I don't........what?

As much as I liked flipping on Discovery, or FOODTV, or KET(local et) and having no idea what would be on, or listening to a WHOLE album to find good unreleased songs, ON DEMAND is the future.

I love Pandora, but a "Random" for watchable tv or movies, seems unlikely. I see HBO either going down the tubes or seriously evolving really soon.

I watched True Blood (dear god........need eye bleach) with a friend recently, and I was shocked that she pays extra for a channel that shows you whatever they want, whenever they feel like it.;)

I'm thinking the ONLY thing HBO has going for it is every once in a while they put out a damn good TV Series that kicks the ass of every crap reality TV show. But with non-premium channels now starting to put out good series as well even that niche is going to fail them soon.

Same for Showtime. And I think the only thing Cinemax has going for them is consumers all get to watch soft-core porn after 10 pm without the worry of computer viruses.

I cancelled my free week too. After I caught up on Community.

No it won't. No non-premium channel will fund seriously good series like Game of Thrones, Shameless, Weeds (earlier seasons), The Wire, The Sopranos, Deadwood, Rome etc.

These shows are insanely expensive to produce, and follow a shorter 10-13 episode season that only a few other cable channels follow. The immediate business model shift for these premium channel providers that well see is the ability to deliver the on demand apps (HBO Go) directly to the consumer for a fee without requiring them to have a cable subscription.

HBO through Comcast is $15/mo, HBO Go directly from HBO would likely be $12/mo and cut out the middle man. I've always wished I could build my own 'cable' package as in my household we watch less than 10 different channels total. Too bad there's no legal, non torrent way to do so :(

i know! through all the programming my wife, my 4 year old daughter, and i watch we probably go through 10 channels of the hundreds we get through comcast.. only thing stopping me from switching only to online type venues is the live sports.. if they had a build your own package with just a handful of channels i would gladly pay for that even if it was only 3/4 the cost of the full package

The Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy, Battlestar Galactica.......All as good as Sopranos....all better than Trueblood.

ESPN3.con for live sports.

Our U-verse contract is up at the end of the month and it is getting cancelled. 100 bucks a month, 500 some chanels, and nothing worth watching. No thanks.

I have a vizio tv an hulu use to suck and stall at commercials all the time. I read somewhere to uninstall the hulu app and then reinstall and that seems to have fixed the issue for whatever reason? We also cancelled our dish and have netflix and hulu along with the OTA broadcast HD channels. Works for us... Cable/dish is going to need to come out with a pay per channel system if they want to get back in the game. I would sign back up if I could pick like 10 channels that I ever watch and they were only a buck a channel or something?

I used to use netflix but then I boycotted them because of their pack they created , I'm not sure if they are still doing it. I am using Amazon Prime Video( Free as an Amazon prime member) , then I torrent anything else. I wont use HULU plus because I refuse to pay for commercials.

All I am talking about with netflix is the streaming. When they changed packages, we dropped the discs and are paying less a month.
