Just curious.

Since my electric stove is tricky to get the perfect temp's with.

Would it be OK to add grains at 145, turn off the stove and have it heat to 155? Instead of adding grains at 155?

Or is the temp at "adding grains to water" critical.

temp of the mash is critical. I would sugest using the oven set to your temp if your worried about it. I have stove mashed before but i have to keep stirring and check temp every 5 minutes because it would drop out of my range. Adding the grains will cause a drop in temp also.

I guess my question is

will adding grains to 145 hurt?? It's almost like a two step infusion.

Will spending 10 minutes at 145 and THEN the normal temp be a determent?
