my first bottle of raspberry cyser. I just got home and got a bug in my pants about seeing where the carb level is after 16 days so it's still warm. (ugh, i know!). When popped open, it went geyser on me. Not crazily, but enough that I ran for a towel.

I only added 3/4 cup dextrose at bottling (brew was at .995). I've never had that happen before.

Will this go away with refrigeration or age?
Will all the bottles more than likely do the same thing?

I've read that you can get gushers if you open a bottle too early because the CO2 the yeast produce will be on top and not absorbed into the beer (as it would be at a later date). I don't know anything about cider but 16 days in does seem rather far along (in beer terms).

I'm sure the sugar was mixed evenly. I dumped it in then stired the bucket for 30 seconds getting a big whirlpool effect going to ensure distribution. OH well, I'll just wait awhile longer.
