i converted two coolers two weeks ago and just ordered my 10 gallon megapot with thermometer and ball valve. the kettle went up 20 bucks in the last two weeks, damn!

i'm going to do a brown ale for my first recipe. the grain bill is 9.7lbs marris otter and 12oz 120L crystal. the recipe called for target hops but i have 2oz fuggles on hand(didn't feel like paying 8 bucks for an oz of hops).

going to mash at 150-152 for 60 in and then batch sparge. recipe has 0.8oz target for 90 min.

any suggestions on hop schedule with an oz or two of fuggles?

Seeing as brown ales are more about malt than hops, I'd go with say 1.5 ounces for bittering (since you don't have a high aa hop), then the last 1/2 ounce for the last 15 minutes.

I'd have to agree with avid. congratz on moving to AG...Try downloading a the demo of beersmith. Look at some examples of Brown ales

Cheers
