Hi,

I will bottle a mead in two days. It is very dry and white wine like (0.098 when transferred to secondary after 2 months) I would like to make it as a sparkling wine/Champagne. I can't find the information on the web about how much Co2 volume I should aim for in this situation.

Do you know what range or carbonation sparkling wine and champagne normally have?

Thank you!:mug:

Sparkling wine and champagne do not necessarily contain the same amount of Co2. I've had sparkling wine that has had a very low volume, especially sparkling reds. Champagne has pretty high pressure, probably about 5-6 volumes.

Personally I don't enjoy drinking something as gassy as champange and I would probably go for about 2.5 volums in my mead.

All information in the post is basically made up and may be completely inaccurate.
