From one newby to the others 
: if you're considering a pump for your IC : a got a 3W / 320L/hr one and it wasn't strong enough. I replaced it with a 12W / 620L/hr pump and it works fine. Also - fountain pumps have a "fountain height" -make sure the pump is rated at 1.5m + or it may be too weak.
