What's the best temperatures for fermenting mead with D-47? The Lavlin site offers a wide range (15 - 30 C) and I've found exactly one post here on hbt which said the best temps were 58 - 70 F.

Will it work best, with a clean but steady fermentation, at temps closer to 60 than 70?

As a general rule, with mead fermentations, using the yeast at closer to the lower end of the range produces better results. With D47 I am happy with it between 60-65 F in most cases.

I have a 5 gallon batch of Tupelo honey going using D-47. I pitched it around 74 F for the first half day or so but cooled it down to 64 give or take a degree and it has been going nicely.
