I am in the process of designing and building an Irish Coffin draft box to put on the top of my Oster 5.0 kegerator. Can anyone tell me what the distance between the hole for the shank to the top of the bar surface or drip tray should be? I think 9 or 10 inches would be sufficient clearance unless I was trying to fill larger vessels like pitchers or growlers.

When I built mine, I made the holes 10 inches. However, I have a bar mat underneath that is nearly an inch thick. Still only with 9 inches, a pint glass fits underneath no problem. I have a stout tap on one of my openings, and you don't even have to tilt a glass to get it under that.

So I'd say 9 inches would be fine.
