I am wanting to brew a strong ale for my next batch, any good ones out there? Looking into the midwest superior strong ale (looks good). Anything close to a Stone ABA is good, or a malty/hop tasting ale with high alcohol Vol.

I am drinking as I post northern brewers winter warmer, a old ale style strong ale! It's really good! We brewed 10 gallons and split it, I kept my 5 gal normal, my buddy added bourbon soaked oak chips and I will try that in two weeks! Just a thought!

Looks pretty good (interested) almost need more hops in there though for my taste buds.... Was also pretty interested in Nothern's Black IPA as well... seems like a winner. Or try to find a good Stone ABA clone kit, any out there?

Check out the Stone Arrogant Bastard clone from Austin home brew. Mine is just finished and is really good. I thihnnk it is 5 weeks old right now, would have to check, but it is fantastic. I plan on doing a head to head in another week or so.

Very simple recipe, that has me considering a bulk amber LME buy!

Good luck!

I have Midwests Superior in my primary right now. I wont know how it turns out for a while but I was strongly considering adding some hops to a secondary.
