Thanks to a failure of my freezer I have 6 lbs of soft fruit that needs to be either used or thrown away.

I have a Flanders red that has been going for 5 months. It's 7 gallons in 6 Imperial gallon glass jars. I was thinking of taking 2 of them and moving it to a 3-gallon plastic fermenter with the fruit. Keep it there for about 3 months and then move it back to glass.

Any issues?

Should be fine, plenty of people rack onto fruit right after primary (I think any additional time is great since it prevents the primary yeast from eating all the sugars).

Thanks. I've decided to do it since it's only a couple of gallons. Only find out by doing it.
