I just motorized my barley crusher tonight and it couldn't have been easier with the "Beefy Bodine" motor. I know I'm not covering any new ground here; I followed these two great step-by-step links:

What I really wanted to share was the link to the "Beefy Bodine" motor that I found at Herbach & Rademan: http://www.herbach.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=HAR&Product_Code=TM01MTR4527

The motor is typically hard to find but these guys have them in stock for $75 right now, not as cheap as they used to be, but it makes motorizing a mill a snap. If you are in the Philly area, you can pick it up yourself in Moorestown, NJ and save on shipping.

I'm glad that you used that motor for your mill. It is a very powerful unit and runs a little bit faster than herbach.com states. It is 181 rpm on 60 cycle power (151 rpm on 50 cycle).

I originally drew the referenced motor wiring diagram for Walt Fischer (Lama Brewery) back in December of 2004.

MANY thanks for that wiring diagram P-J, it saved me a ton of time. I was able to wire it up in about five minutes. That motor is awesome, it certainly lives up to its name.
