Hi all,

I'm just starting to get the gear necessary to start brewing on my own. I have had a kegerator/bar setup for several years, but have just purchased some ball lock kegs, and am working on accumulating the rest of what I need. One thing I'd like to do is be able to easily swap between Sanke and ball lock kegs. I've done some research and found that most people are using these: http://stores.kegconnection.com/Categories.bok?category=*Commercial+to+Homebrew+Conversion

I definitely like the convenience of being able to switch between the two, but I have several family members and friends with kegerators as well, so I'd prefer to not have to change things out anywhere I might bring a ball lock keg. I found a couple places in my area that alternatively have adapters that go on your ball lock connectors converting them to a standard beer nut thread. While you still need a wrench, you can at least bring your ball lock keg anywhere that has a standard keg coupler. Only drawback is that both places I have found these are doing small batches from a machinist, so they're a tad expensive and not always available. Has anyone seen adapters like this anywhere else? Any issues with using them? I can't believe I haven't seen more like them. Here are the links to the ones I know about:

My LHBS has them in both Stainless and Food grade plastic: http://www.kettletokeg.com/shop.php?search=MFL%20to%20Sanke
Another local company that specializes in draft system setup and maintenance: http://www.bluelinedraft.com/shop/article_14BLA/1_4"-MFL-Ball-Lock-Adapter.html

Looking forward to asking more questions as I get going. :)

Thanks,
jczippy
