I picked up a Banjo burner and pot from a guy selling his stuff and the pot was in pretty bad shape. My wife, trying to help, soaked it in oxyclean. Now it has a black ring and looks worse than before, any ideas on how to save this?

Sounds like an aluminum pot. I don't have one, but they are supposed to look ugly as they build up an oxide layer (which keeps the aluminum out of the wort). Look up how to care for aluminum pots and that black layer will be mentioned.

Yeah, I will have to look into it more. The pot was ugly as in not cleaned well, dried crud and sticky stuff on the bottom, the oxyclean got rid of all that but left a black residue.
