Out tonight

Was out for dinner tonight. Rare event. But, buddy and I slipped into the bar while waiting for a table. I ordered a Harpoon IPA.

I have drank countless drafts of harpoon IPA. But tonight, after just a month of home brewing, I discovered that harpoon uses centennial hops! Was plain as day when I took my first sip! and lots of em! Very satisfying to identify what I just drank. Just made dead ringer from nb awhile back and had to dry hop some centennial the other day.

Really amazing that I picked up that aroma.

It's amazing how fast your palate acclimates to it. I was the same way with chinooks. Before long, you'll be able to pick out other varieties. It's a fun mental game.

Centennials are my favorite hop!

I've played that game at the bar with friends before. I drink a beer, they pull up the brewer's website and (provided they list the ingredients) see if I can guess them. I get as many wrong as right, but it's definitely entertaining. To me, at least.
