I've noticed a ton of Hoosier brewers on here the last few days so hopefully someone can answer this for me.

I just found out tonight I have to spend 3 days in Anderson next week for work. Can anyone recommend a good brew pub to eat dinner at and enjoy a few pints after work hours?

Thanks!

Just spent the week in Fisher, IN. The Chatam Tap had a nice selection of beer as does Scotty's Lake House. Both in Fishers though, about 20 mins from Anderson. You do have a casino in Anderson. Also, the Black Swan Brewpub is one exit away from the airport. Had some great beers there and the owner is really cool. Good luck.

There was one in the noblesville area but this was 10 or so years ago. Good beer, basic bar food. No idea what the name was but it was a nice place.

You're not going to be able to find anything brewpub-wise in Anderson. My wife's grandmother lives there and frankly it's kind of a small town. I would however make the drive to Flat 12 Brewery on the NE side of Indy. Great beers, food, & atmosphere. You can also check out Sun King Brewery. They have a tap room and were recently (2 weeks or so ago) featured on The Brewing Network's Sunday Session.

Broadripple brewpub is most certainly a brewpub by the way. They are always making something new beer wise. The usually have some kind of fancy taco or smoked chicken wing special throughout the week. The have $3 16oz pints on Mondays I believe. Might check the website for that...

Hope this helps!

there is a place in Muncie that is supppsed to be outstanding. Heorot, not been there but heard good things.

Thanks for the replies. Sucks about nothing in Anderson, although there's nothing here either....lol. I know there's a lot of awesome brew pubs in and around Indy, but unfortunately I'm in a company vehicle so that means no enjoying a pint and driving back. Was hoping something within walking or cab distance, but oh well.

I was also going to recommend Heorot in Muncie. (30 minutes N. of Anderson) That place is an experience beyond belief. I tried to Lambics there on tap. It was amazing, and the guys there love to talk beer.

My daughter is in school there. Took her to Scotty's Brewhouse for lunch one day. I had to have one of all my favorite beers, needless to say I'm glad we were walking :drunk:

Will have to check out Heorot's next time I'm up there.

+1 to Flat 12 and Sun King, I work around the corner from both and stop in on occasion, both have great beer. The company I work for owns the electric company that did all of the electrical work on both of those breweries.
