I'm asking because I made a fairly strong belgian ale a few months back(7.5%,) and initially it tasted pretty horrendous. I mean, down right disgusting, awful, vile stuff. Discouraged and lazy I just let it sit in the bucket, and now, 2 and a half months later, it's starting to become palatable. No signs of oxidation, but I'll probably transfer it to a glass carboy and let it age out for a couple more months to see if it improves further.

So what's the longest period of time you've kept a beer in a plastic bucket?
Were there any noticeable signs of oxidation?

My stats:
7.5% beer sitting in plastic bucket from
15 april 2012 to
27 june 2012
no signs of oxidation

Brewed a batch end of October or first of November last year, bottled it on Memorial day this year, no problems. It carbed up no problem,no off taste.
