I'm trying to make sense of the all-grain recipe for Troegs Nugget Nectar that was originally published in the October 2011 issue of BYO and then later corrected in the January 2012 issue. I no longer have the October issue so I can't go back and confirm exactly what the corrected grain bill and OG should now be. They didn't publish the full recipe in the updated version - only the corrections.

Can someone confirm if the recipe below is correct? Thanks!

Recipe: Nugget Nectar (BYO)

Taste notes: Imperial Amber with lots of hop flavor but not a lot of bitterness.

Just curious if anyone was able to piece together the final (corrected) recipe for Nugget Nectar from the October 2011 and January 2012 editions of BYO.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am going to try this down the road.

For those who like Nugget nectar, troegs currently has an IIPA (scratch beer #55) on tap that is delicious. Looks like the grains used in the IIPA are similar to Nugget, as are the hops (simcoe, cascade, Nugget, well fairly similar).

Anyone report if this has turned out close to the original?

I don't think it should be considered a solid clone yet. I was trying to make sense of the botched recipe originally posted in the October 2011 edition of BYO but this would require the Oct 2011 edition and the Jan 2012 edition to complete the puzzle. My emails to the BYO editors haven't been returned.

Joel at troegs is brewing up a triple IPA for the newest scratch series. No word yet whether they will fill growlers, or if you'll have to get pints at the tap room.

The follow up correction only corrected the All Grain version IIRC
