Hi All,

I'm a very new brewer and I need some help. I have only done kits so far, but I want to Make Orfy's Mild Mannered Ale. The problem I'm having is with conversions. Orfy says to use 4.89Lbs of Light LME. My LHBS has them in 3.3Lb containers, so I thought, Okay, I'll get one of them and some more DME. I believe I should be using 2Lbs of DME and the 3.3Lbs of LME to get to an equivalent of 4.9 LME. Is that correct? Thanks!

Kevin

Right, so if I subtract 4.89 from the 3.3Lbs. I have in LME, I get 1.59 Lbs missing. If I take that 1.59 and divide by .8 I get 1.9875. I think this means I need to use 1.9875 lbs of DME to be equivalent. Is this correct. Sorry, but math isn't my strong suit. :)

Nope, I had that backwards. I think I would need 1.272 of the additional DME. Thanks for the help!
