I've competed in one contest (want to do more but there's always so much going on) and am a kcbs certified BBQ judge who has judge many competitions including the American Royal.

I have competed in one contest. Roc City Rib Fest, KCBS Sanctioned event. awesome experience, wish I had more time to do it again, oh well. some day

Yeah, that's a great event. We were up there last year but couldn't make it this year. There are a lot of comps in you area. Are you thinking about competing again?

oh yeah just not sure when. there is another one in july in brockport, and then Oinktober fest in buffalo. I hear that the buffalo one is a major blast!

Yeah, there are some nice comps in your area. All throughout New England too. Check out NEBS.org for more comps near you.

Cheers!

I started competing pretty recently. how long have you been at it, mike?

I've done a few, clovisfest in CA and some in Arizona. Best I got was 3rd in ribs and 3rd chicken, 10th brisket and pork out of 50+ competitors.
