Hey,
This is our first year growing hops and they're doing very well here in Victoria, BC Canada.

My question is, now that the bines have reached the top of our trellis system, what do we do with them? The crazy things just keep growing and are headed off into space at this point. Should we be trimming them back to the end of the trellis? Wrapping back down to the ground?

Thanks!
Sam

Let them grow, then climb up and get the goose. (I had to let mine grow as they are beyond reach of my ladder).

My first plant is in my buddy's yard in north van. It's reached the roof and is also reaching for the sky! Just let it grow.

So you don't support them in any way? Just let them float?

We've got other plants below the hops that we have to keep them away from, but I don't want to inhibit the hops' growth and propagation.

Did you all get useable cones the first year?
