Howdy Y'all, :mug:

1,000 bottles of beer in my brewery is one of my fondest dreams.
And 1,000 bottles is an attainable goal for me right now as things have come together so that it is not only possible but practical.

It is just an arbritary number, 1,000 is,
and actually not all that much 'quantity'
as 'brewerys' think of quantity,
and I could drink it up myself in three months.
Its only 100 gallons and I have done 100 before.
But not fast enough in order to accumulate 1,000 full bottles of ale
all in the same place and at the same time.

I have the shelving for it.
I have the bottles.
And I have the skill to brew 20 batches fast enough
to not drink it all before it reaches that number.
In homebrewing that has always remained a goal,
for productivity to surpass consumption.
ie. to brew it faster than you drink it.

270 bottles are on 'the wall' now,
each a 12 oz clean green glass, 'Bavarian', bottle.
5 Gallons in the last secondary,
{ie. 315 bottles}
and I've DME enough for 20 gallons more.
{500 bottles?}
The month is January and I've plenty of time before it gets hot.
It also helps to drink 'store bought' beer and ale,
and a little Tequlia or Scotch.
So as not to get into ones 'hoard' but rather to let it age & increase.

Now to figure out how to arrange them so as to photograph them
and post them here for everybody else to appreciate as well.

Like that old 'song from the sea' says:
Take one down, passh it around,
8,492 bottleobeerzsh on the wall...

'1000 Bottles of Beer on the Wall Brewery' sounds like a good name if you don't have one yet

I've got similar goals for building up mass quantities .I'm sitting on 300 bottled and 20 gals fermenting.SWMBO and i have been brewing twice a week for five weeks now and i've been making bigger 6 gal batches.I've got 50# of grain on hand and i'm expecting 180# more.I'm laid off for the winter(probly till March) so we plan on keeping the twice a week thing going for a while with the end result being come fishing season i can get back to my other obsession,my 26' boat, while having enough homebrew on hand to not have to brew as often(or buy storebought). So i don't think 1000 bottles is an unreasonable amount to have on hand and yeah,a picture would be great. In any case ,that's an admirable goal.:D
Cheers:mug:

you should start with heavy beers that need more time, like a barley wine. This will help to keep you from drinking them. progress down so they will all be ready at the same time. (and keep brewing some house brew to satisfy your needs, of course)

mr. drwi,

Sounds better than the ' former pantry brewery'.
Kinda long but I appreciate the input.
I very well may use that one.
Thanks and don't worry...
have a homebrew.

'1,000 Beers on the Wall' update...

1-5-07, I have 315 beers on the wall and I am getting used to the name,
it sings {and thanks, drwi,} if it seems a bit lengthy I can,
in normal conversation, just refer to the brewery, where I brew and keep my beer and ale, as 'the Wall.'

Yeah, Knife

hey Knife
Counted up last night and we were at 419 bottles. We drank a few more after and a few today so far but we are over 400.Got 24 gals of ale fermenting and 9 gals of Apfelwein fermenting too.I'll let you know when we reach 600.
Cheers:mug:

One scaler,

Wow, you are 100 bottles ahead of me,
I am impressed!
I am brewing right now, {8 Lb Hammerbier}
and as there are 299 bottles in the brewery now,
{just drank one!} and put 3 more in the fridge... ={296}
+ one primary full and the batch I will complete tonight and the one tomorrow... 3 primarys... and I can do one more before I run out of DME, next week.
2 weeks before I get any more money and another 55 LBS OF DME...

Jan- 450?
Feb- 300?
Mar- 300?

My recipe is basically 7-8 Lbs of DME with various hop combinations.
Keep in touch and lets crank out a vast hoard of homebrew.
Good luck and don't worry...
Just have a homebrew.

Hey Knify
Over 500 on the wall(in boxes on garage shelves).I got hold of a couple free Corny's to take the bottle pressure off but i'm keeping the fermenters full.I still intend to achieve 1000+ botlles on hand though.I'll keep ya posted:D .
Cheers:mug:

Onescaler,

Cold ain't it? I just counted and there are 365 bottles in my former pantry,
the 'wall' so to speak. 365 bottled and a batch in a primary.
Tomorrow however I get paid! 55 lbs of pale DME and 35 more gallons to go.
350 bottles = over 700, but for what I drink.... 30???

I'm working on it and now for beef stroganoff!!!

And more ale!

Hows the fishing up there?

Way to go on that count, keep up the good work.I've still got over 30 gals
in buckets and carboys and 5 in a keg goin.
The fish are out there(in the salt) now but not in big #'s yet.March through September are the best months fish wise and weatherwise also.I'm talkin about Salmon and Halibut which are what i target. But the boat's in the driveway for my usual winter maintenance routine currently.Probly launch next month, and i'll keep it in thewater till about October. You can bet it'll be stocked with a quantity of homebrew:rockin: .
Cheers:mug:

ohaye indeed - i have well over 1000 bottles of beer on the wall as it were and kegs to boot. 'tis a comforting feeling

Brewhead,

I checked out the brewtoapian site, cool.
Welcome to the 1,000 bottle of beer race.
{I guess you won already...} but keep brewing.
We have Texas, Alaska and now S. C.
with massive homebrew hoards already building.
Two friends came out today, and they brought Maredsous 10,
and two other fine beer-ales. One was Belgium and the other Canada,
with 9% alcohol. We got drunk, went out for gourmet Mexican food and upon coming back to my house I opened three of my Sieben und eine Halb Pfound Hammerbiers, and everyone was equally impressed.

Got any pictures of your hoard?

And besides me,
you are the only other person in the world who says:
'as it were', which went out of general usage 235 years ago.
But, it is coming back. As it were, so to speak, in a manner of speaking, if you will,

Luck
