Hey guys,

Just ordered a pickup tube from bargainfittings.com.

http://www.bargainfittings.com/inde...t&keyword=pickup&category_id=0&product_id=157

I've just finished installing it into my 10 gallon Mega Pot. I was just wondering if there are any issues with teflon tape being exposed on the 1/2" male NPT bit that theads into my bulkhead on the INSIDE of my kettle? Will this be OK during boil or should I have tried to peel it off from the remainder of the exposed threading? It's kind of a hassle to retighten all this and I put teflon around the whole thread...

I'll do what's right, but hoping it's OK as is.

edit: posted a pic on another thread - http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/4932/c36020110201004243.jpg

Thanks!

With thin welding rod or stiff tie add a short 90 with the end cut to a point and carefully dig it out removing the useless excess sticking out of the threads. Less likely to catch grains plus break loose later when brewing plus smoother flow removed.
