I have a pound and a half of Caramel 60L crushed grains. I want to add these to six pounds of amber malt extract. I have a muslin bag as well. Do I boil the grains in water then dump the water into my malt extract? If so, how long should I boil for, and how much H2O should I use for 1 1/2lbs of grain?

Here's my recipe.
1 1/2lbs 60L grain
6lbs amber malt extract
1 oz williamette
1 oz nugget
1oz galena

Any thing else I should add?
Thanks for the help

You should steep the grains in hot water. Somewhere around 150-160. Try not to exceed 170. You are not extracting fermentable sugars from these grains, so the exact temp does not matter.
